Diep in het relatief nog maar recentelijk ontgonnen Zuiden van Gelderland, ingeklemd tussen twee machtige rivieren en net boven het Bourgondische Brabant, vindt het illustere gezelschap Yeeehaa haar oorsprong: Druten. De band startte tien jaar geleden als trio, en is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot vaandeldrager van de zelf geproclameerde “unauthorized country”. Op authentieke en overtuigende wijze wordt vooral eigen werk, maar ook covers van Hank III, Steve Earle, Johnny Cash en andere helden gespeeld. Wanneer je de ogen sluit en luistert naar het rauwe en ongepolijste Yeeehaa geluid waan je jezelf even in een van de vele sjofele saloons in de stoffige en zonnige zuidelijke staten van Amerika.
Yeeehaa’s frontman en zanger op gitaar is Druten’s eigen cowboy Peter Noppen aka Angelface Pete. Met volle overgave zingt hij overtuigend en recht uit het hart over lief en leed, spot en spijt en andere levenservaringen die het beeld schetsen van een leeg landschap en de zoektocht naar het Gouden Geluk. Pete wordt bijgestaan door de roemruchte gebroeders Ray (electric guitar) en Johan (drums) van Haalen, en Pleun Vermeulen (doghouse bass). Deze muzikanten met ieder meer dan 25 jaar ervaring kennen het klappen van de zweep en weten hoe ze in no time de tent op z’n kop moeten zetten.
Voor Yeeehaa is 2016 een jubileumjaar. De band bestaat dan tien jaar en heeft zich in die periode ontwikkeld tot de ultieme kroegenband en ludieke smaakmaker op muziekfestivals. Binnen de country scene, die soms toch wat ingeslapen lijkt, is dit niet ongemerkt voorbij gegaan. Yeeehaa mag zich verheugen op tal van boekingen bij diverse country festivals in binnen- en buitenland.

Deep in the only recently unlocked South of Gelderland, enclosed by two mighty rivers just above the Burgundian Dutch province Brabant, the illustrious men of Yeeehaa find their deeply rooted origin. Their band started as a musical trio ten years ago, but today it’s four musicians who bear the standard of their self proclaimed “unauthorized country”. They perform merely their own compositions, as they also play covers of Hank III, Steve Earle, Johnny Cash and other outlaws in a rather authentic and convincing way. Just close your eyes and listen to the raw and unpolished sound of Yeeehaa, and you will find yourself in a typical and dusty saloon in the sun covered South West of America.
Yeeehaa’s singer and guitar playing frontman is local hero and cowboy Peter Noppen, also known as Angelface Pete. His dedicated contribution to the band tells of love and suffering, mockery and regrets and other life experiences which paint an empty landscape and the quest of gold.
Pete is accompanied by the renowned Van Haalen brothers Ray on electric guitar and Johan on drums, next to Pleun Vermeulen on doghouse bass. These fine musicians with their 25 year and exceeding experience know how to play ball and put the place on fire within the blink of an eye.
2016 Is Yeeehaa’s jubilee year because the band celebrates its ten year existence. In this decade the band has developed to a full grown and the perfect alt country pub band which also leads on music festivals all around the country. Yeeehaa is expanding its territory as these guys are also on stages across the Dutch border due to the fact that the number of fans in Germany and Belgium is still increasing.
